6 Month Foundational Dance Programs for Ages 5-7 years

We have loved watching our daughter's confidence develop and grow with the support of her dance teachers at Evolutions. Her dance teachers inspire the love of dance through their enthusiasm and positive encouragement to try new things.

Dancers in our Foundational Program (6 month program) will learn and expand upon their dance technique and vocabulary. Classes are offered in a variety of dance genres to appeal to many interests, and students are encouraged to register in multiple classes to enhance their technique, stamina and expand their love for dance.
All students enrolled in the 6 month program have the opportunity to perform at the year end showcase in June.

We are pleased to offer a variety of programs:
- 10 month Foundational Program (September to June)
- 6-8 week sessions (September/October, November/December, January/February, March/April, May/June)
- 6 month Foundational Program (January to June. Registration opens November 1, 2023)*

Classical ballet is characterized by its graceful and fluid movements. Ballet is a disciplined art form in which dancers are taught specific technique and movements. We follow the Cecchetti syllabus in our ballet classes. The Cecchetti Method of Classical Ballet was developed to educate and prepare dancers with material that is appropriate to their growing bodies. Dancers are required to learn concepts and theories of movement, through a syllabus that teaches the basic structure of each individual step and musical phrasing. Students will learn syllabus from the Cecchetti method, which originated in Italy and is used as standard training in some of the most prestigious ballet schools in the world.

At Evolutions School of Dance, we offer high quality, fun and educational ballet training in our ballet programs. All of our ballet dancers from Beginner Ballet and up, will benefit from training and learning elements from the Cecchetti Method of Ballet and Open Studies. At ESD, our ballet program offers high quality of ballet instruction and includes a focus on musicality, artistry, technique and play.

Dancers in the Beginner and Junior Foundational Ballet are only required to take one weekly ballet class.

FOUNDATIONAL PROGRAM

Classical Ballet Syllabus - Foundational Program

This class will introduce the history of Hip-Hop culture with movement vocabulary for the emerging dancer. The focus of this class has an emphasis on footwork, style, musicality, individual expression and an understanding of the history and evolution of the dance.

This class focuses on jazz, modern and lyrical dance techniques. It is an exciting way to experience various styles of dance, their history and evolution over time.

With strength and flexibility as the foundation, Acrobatic Dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance with acrobatic elements. Safety is of the utmost importance to us at Evolutions School of Dance, so acrobatic elements are taught in conjunction with stretching, strength building and conditioning so dancers are safe and comfortable as they develop their skills.
